PWC’s 2021 Global Investor ESG Survey found that 83% of investors viewed detailed, evidence-based ESG reporting as critical to maintaining investment appeal. Additionally, regulatory frameworks like the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) require companies to conduct a double materiality assessment—evaluating how sustainability issues may financially impact the company and affect people or the environment.
