Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF)

Press Release: “The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization enabling mass innovation through open source, today announced the formation of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), and founding contributions of three leading projects driving innovation in open source AI; Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), Block’s goose, and OpenAI’s AGENTS.md.

The launch of the AAIF comes just one year after the release of MCP by Anthropic, provider of advanced AI systems grounded in safety research, including Claude and the Claude Developer Platform. MCP has rapidly become the universal standard protocol for connecting AI models to tools, data and applications, with more than 10,000 published MCP servers now covering everything from developer tools to Fortune 500 deployments.
